  • I would use the razor tool and create your saperate videos on 1 timeline.
When you need to export just drag the “work area” to the specific clip. Then in the media encoder insted of whole sequence, change it to work area, and it will only render what is in the work area.

    Hope this helps.

That’s why I would go with 2 cameras.
As long as the 2nd camera is positioned (and never moved) you should have at least 1 good wide shot.
Another must is attend the wedding rehearsal.
I would take a camera with you and see what the camera sees.
This will help a lot. Plus, you will know what is happening next during the wedding.

Because it gives you a variety of shots to cut from when editing.
I would never shoot a wedding with only 1 camera.
Imagine watching a 30min wedding from 1 camera angle. BORING!
If you have 2 cameras, you can set one as a wide shot and you can move with the other one.

I went a bought the Memorex labeling kit.
It has a lot of labels to start with.
It also comes with software and the “stomper”
I bought mine for about $30

If you have 2 cameras why not try it. I will be shooting a 3 camera wedding by myself.
You just need to make sure the static/wide camera is in the right place and you can rove with the other.
That’s what I’m going to do.
    What do you think???

By the way, this will be my first wedding also.

If I were you I would get 2 wireless mics and mic the pastor and the groom. If you only have one mic pick one.
Just make sure you have it turned up enough to pick up all the people. It’s better to turn down in post then turn up.

$500 would be a good price if you weren’t having to travel.

    Just my 2 cents.

    Piece of cake.
Just throw it on your standard def timeline and scale it down to fit the frame. Keep in mind that the quality will look much better then your original footage.
If you are in a 4×3 project you’ll have to decide if you want to letterbox it or chop the sides off.
If you are in a widescreen project it will scale perfectly to fit the frame.
Let me know if you have anymore questions reguarding this.

    Problem solved.

    Thanks Zane,
I guess I need to charge like a real video business would charge. Right now this is a side job. I have a full time job in the military. But, a full time video business would charge for all those expenses you brought up.
I think I’m going to tell them I’ll do it for $500. But they have no legal rights to do anything but play the video in the stores.
That way I should be able to get them to buy a version for the internet and maybe a commercial or two for tv.

The 60sec one took me a total of 10hrs. Most of that was waiting on talent.
    Thanks for being honest.
The $2,000 was based on $500 for the equipment and $15/hr based on this job taking 100 to complete.
But like you said before I accept another job I need to really sit down and crunch some numbers and get some good rates.
Just curious, what would you charge for a 10min video consisting of a few graphics, interviews and b-roll?

    Thanks again.
