    OK,

So here’s the latest….We’ve got him saving to the desktop, etc…we can find the files, etc…no problem…we have the rendering down…

    THE ISSUE NOW IS…..

It can’t render a file that’s over 1 MINUTE!! I’m using remote access to watch his computer screen…and every time a 5-6 minute file gets 70-80% done…it stops and gives an error reading….saying simply that it can’t finish the project, or giving an error that says “make sure you have enough disk space.”….

    I checked on his hard drive….there’s 16.5 GB left…which should be plenty….

SO WHAT’S THE ISSUE!!! Why can’t I render a file that’s longer than that???? One thing I’ve been doing when I have him render is…

Edit > Select All > File > Render AS > etc, etc….putting it on the desktop….

Do I not need to do the Edit, Select All…stuff…although I don’t think that makes a difference…

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS THINK!!! You’ve been helpful so far.

OK guys….struggling again…I’m trying to talk this guy through this and I’m really struggling….

So he has his captured video in his vegas timeline….and I want him to RENDER it to the DESKTOP as a Quick Time File…wouldn’t it just be…

File > Render As > Save In Desktop > Save type = Quick Time…and that should render it, and put it on the Desktop???

For whatever reason, this guy is saying he’s not seeing it on the desktop….

Any ideas where things go when they render if they don’t go there?

Help me out if you could…

    Thanks.

    Thanks for the quick responses…

Now for the big question….How do I convert to a QT form? Like I said, I’m new at this, and need some simple instructions if at all possible.

    Thanks!

    Allen,

In essence, I want the file to become a MOV….because I want to ultimately be able to open it in AVID. And I’m not sure a Vegas file will open in AVID, but I know a MOV file will.

For instance, in AVID, when I export the file, it becomes a MOV file. Is there an option, or anything similar in Vegas, so when I export in Vegas, the file becomes a MOV, or something that will open in AVID…

I’m kind of a beginner, so go easy with me!

    Thanks
