Apologies. Perhaps I am stupid after all,

It’s been a while since I used resolve and what I am actually trying to do is split the clip not actually cut a clip out) so ctrl is what I needed not ctrl x.

So here’s a strange one. Ctrl-X (for cut) isn’t working for me.

Using mouse, going to edit menu, and selecting cut also isn’t working

(This occurs on both cut page and edit page)

Other ctrl commands i.e. ctrl-v, ctrl-c are working fine

ctrl-x is working fine in windows/other programs, it’s only DV Resolve where I am having probs.

Well it’s my home pc so yeah that shouldn’t be an issue and never has been in the past.

There is only one user account on the PC and that’s mine 🙂

I also tried right click ‘run as administrator’ – same result as always.

I tried with 17.4.1 executable – no luck.

Backed up database and uninstalled Resolve and all other BlackMagic products.

Tried a fresh install of 17.4.1 but I get the SAME error and cannot install it at all.

So now I don’t even has resolve on my system, which makes me unhappy.

Maybe someone can look at their install and see if there is an…

It tells me I need to verify the location exists, and won’t install.

I have always just used the default paths etc for the installation so am confused as to what to do next.

Companies trademark various aspects of their designs – usually those things which make it extremely distinctive – consider the Aston Martin grille shape for example.

Restore project archive doesn’t work – it cant find any to restore.

I did try “recuva” but it only restored 1/3 of the files it found and none of those was a drp file Weird.

I DID find my folder which (having unhidden files) appears to have db files in it (when navigating via explorer) but these do NOT show up in resolve.

I use the newest version of Resolve 17.2.2 Build 4. (updated as at yesterday 9 August 2021 from 17.2.1) on the Windows 10 platform.

Suddenly a number of my projects have disappeared! Including one I did last night

Yep, certainly sounds like a driver issue.

Have you tried installing the manufacturers drivers, and if the current one isn’t playing maybe the previous driver version?

I imported a bunch of consecutively numbered images to Resolve, and rather than import as individual frames, the consecutive numbering makes them show as one clip (with each image being a single frame in the clip)

I’m pretty sure this is easy to, umm, resolve with just a check mark somewhere but I can’t find where.

Thanks for the reply, I finally found that it was a PEBKAC error.

I was trying to track something which had flashing lights and it wasn”t able to maintain sufficient points by which to track.

Resolved (see what I did there?!) the issue by tracking another part of the image.

Sorry for the hassle.

I am experiencing problems in trying to use the tracking function in fusion in the 17 Beta Resolve.

It tracks around 6 keyframes and then just stops tracking. Won”t proceed further.

Multiple attempts to no effect.

The crash always happens right in the beginning when starting tracking.

When I go to drag a video clip (mp4) from my media pool to my timeline, it brings across the audio but the video doesn’t come with it.

Please help 🙂

FYI I’m using 17beta2 which I just installed (though the issue may also have present in the previous 17 beta1)

All of those are good in that they make new videos with each version of resolve. Almost everything they do will work in the latest version of resolve anyway so keep your resolve to the latest version and you’ll have no dramas.

As Tod said the first place to start is to remove as much noise from the video at the point of recording – that is, the environment in which the video is recorded.
That will pay the biggest dividends.
