Once audio is imported into Avid, it can only be 44.1 or 48Khz. In the 48.048 workflow, it gets restamped as 48kHz and end up being a sample for sample playback, thus slowing it down .1%. Anything in Avid, is now 48kHz, including exports which have no control over sample rate when it comes to +/- .1% workflows.

If the transcode is making .new clips, you can sort by NAME and see which clips don’t have .new next to them and continue transcoding those

If the elements don’t copy/paste, you will most likely need to load the sequence with the subcap as source (drag and drop into monitor) and edit from source to other sequence.

Open the bin with the sequence in a 1080p/23.976 project. Right click the sequence and select “modify”. Then select format and 1980p/23.976. This will properly convert all the 30fpsNDF timecode to 24 and make it a native HD for batch capture.

v6 (maybe 5.5, can’t remember) added the ability to change black and white levels on QT sources via clip highlight->right click->source settings. You can choose to “leave as is”, scale to graphic levels, or scale to video levels.

Send EDL to REDCINE X PRO to create new R3D’s that can be the entire original file, or the event in the EDL + handles. These new R3D files can then be conformed via AMA. Did the project start as AMA?

You can also highlight all the clips in your second pass AMA bin with the all the clips as well as your sequence and try “relink to selected.” That will force the relink process to only look at those clips.
Or… was everything in your sequence done via AMA, or were the clips that are not relinking done via REDCINE X Pro? For those clips, look at both the “Source File” and “Tape” column and see where the file name is being stored. If in “Tape”, it will not relink if original R3D file is from a spanned file and contains _001 in the name.

The longer the clip, the slower the system will get – especially with non-native codec files like H.264. How long are your files in duration?
