Ron,
I know nothing about music other than what I like. You bring a perspective that I wasn’t paying attention to or capable of commenting on. Thank you for the kind words for my work, i would love to keep shooting more of this cinematic style HD using my EX3 and the new Nano Flash.I will post my (secret) picture profiles soon for those who have asked.

Still $299 is a great value for an inverter 2000 watt generator.
I think I’ll pick one up.Michael

You should get 2 of these if they are only $150 each, I’m on the phone right now to my HD right now looking for them.
Should be plenty for one 1200 hmi
Good Luck

Thanks to all for the kind words, we shot this all in one day starting in Venice then jumped on that bus to Malibu for the wilderness/teepee scenes.
My job was to direct the photography and yes I lit a good portion of the scenes. I used a combination of HMI’s and LED’s. I was lucky to have my gaffer and BB from my Animal Planet series helping me with the lighting on this, they earned their day rate as I did.
I had nothing to do with the edit however I was invited to direct the color correction but I was not able to make it. I would have deepened the blacks with a little more contrast and I did suggest the bleach look for her close ups.
To Ron’s comment, my creative input was only for the images and I must say this song didn’t drive me nuts like most do at the end of the day. I think Kate is extremely talented and it was a pleasure to work with her and her management.
I decided to shot 720 24p and use the EX3 overcranking abilities (to 48 frames) for slowing down the motion on selected shots. I hired a steadycam owner operator who was fantastic, and I hand held for many of the shots at her camp ground do to time constraints with setup time with the steadycam.
I rented the Encore lens adapter from EVS together with a set of Zeiss lenses (24, 35, 50, 85, 135, 300) and I was impressed by the look we were able to get. Many here know I had purchased the M-2 complete setup for my EX1 and returned it because it just wasn’t a viable setup for the Sony EX cameras at that time.
For the Nano I setup for 720p, 100Mbps i-frame. The Nano fit great on the back cold shoe of the EX3 and it didn’t effect the steadycam operator. I can’t say enough about the Nano and the high quality images it records.
Here is a still that I corrected that I sent to the color team.

What is nice is the dimmer control and it looks like a solid unit unlike the micro lite.
Good Luck

I have 3-LED 500’s from these guys and they are great. I’m going to order the larger unit.

I believe most post personnel would like a progressive image over an interlaced image to composite. If you are referring to a letterbox black banding top and bottom I would use the 4:3 aspect ratio markers to frame with so when you are exporting as SD you will get a full 4:3 image . What is your delivery?
Good Luck

I would disagree with the SD as you have a great HD camera, I would choose 1080 30p not 60i.
