Duplicate file numbers can happen when your battery dies during a recording. I would suspect a bad cable and I would purchase a new SDI cable and discard the old one. I would also use a short cable (18″) very close to the camera. I’m sure Convergent Design would like you to send this Nano in so they can make sure it works properly or to replace it.

You can share these with other EX1 and EX3 owners, within the Sony files there is a files the is just for EX1 or EX3 camera and you can rename this file for either camera. Once you open it you’ll see the folder with your camera type and that is the folder you can rename to share.

They will be saved in a new folder named Sony to the SxS card you can copy it to your computer and recall it later by coping it back to the SxS card.

What signal is sent to the Nano Flash, HDMI or SDI?

I noticed if you reboot the camera the nob reverts back to S&Q, to toggle for Menu use you need to push Cancel and the S&Q nob in together then you should see what is active on the monitor.

Perhaps the ND Adjustment will be described too. I’m thinking it adjusts the gain, I spoke with Joseph Schimizzi and he thought it might be like a Master gain that was on older cameras.
Abel Cine posted that it was a color correction for the ND, but with the adjustment starting at Zero and ending at 999 I don’t think so. I found it to boost the gain by about a stop.
Please post this update manual when it becomes available.

Craig is right the cards that stop and give the MEDIA ERROR – CANNOT PROCEED – MEDIA NEEDS TO BE RESTORED can’t sustain the data rate demands.
I have only had a few early issues and I’m still using the same 12-Transcend class 6 cards that I’ve had for well over 2 years now. I just purchased the F3 and that camera didn’t seem to like the adapters or some newer cards I just purchased. The new cards are the same Transcend 16gig class 6 just like the others, the F3 gave the unknown media message and wouldn’t format them, so I tried in the EX3 and had no issue formatting them. Recently I gave a client 3 of my SDHC cards and when I got them back I had an issue with one of the new Transcend cards not mounting in my Mac and when I placed the card back into the F3 it didn’t even see it. I tried the card in every device I had and it just didn’t mount, I finally tried it on my EX3 and it gave me the Restore message and now thew card is fine. I use the MxR adapters and I fine if there is a mounting issue I remove the card and reinsert it and in most cases it works, or I try a different slot and it works.
You really need to test these SDHC CARDS extensively to trust them or spend the money for the SxS cards.
I’m a big believer in redundant recording and I use the Nano Flash for my main media files and the EX for the backup.
