  • Thanks Oliver. I agree, but I went from a 2.93 Quad Core Mac Pro with 8gb to an 8-core with 64GB and I’ve heard how blazing fast the new Mac Pro is with FCPX, but I’m not seeing it at all. It seems to be 50% faster at the most I think. Just making sure there is nothing to adjust/set up.

  • Thx Bob! But I’m on FCPX 10.1.1 and don’t use Compressor. I’m not sure where the instance settings are withint FCPX. I’m concerned about render and export times, not just compression on export.

I had a serious Moire problem with my Canon HFS10 in full HD 30P mode on my jeans and guitar strings. I added a gaussian blur filter in Final Cut Express 4.0 and, bingo, the jeans moire fully disappeared and the moire on my guitar strings was mitigated substantially! I will add Neat Video filter to sharpen the video and should be in good shape.

Hello. This is a helpful post, but why does FCE make it so complicated. In MSFT MovieMaker when you place an effect, it assumes you will use the video in the timeline and you adjust the ends of the effect to overlap the ends of the clips. I usually place more video in the timeline than I need to compensate for the effect. With FCE I guess I have to plan in advance and only place what I want to see and let FCE use the “extra” video in the clips that I cant see in the timeline for the effect, correct? Hard to explain.

    Thx,
    Michael
