Thanks for your help, that makes sense. Will you pass it on for me, or should i re-post this in the fcp forum?

But, just another quick one. This is obviously gonna be a slight hassle if i have to do this from now on, is there a way to set up FCP so when i input the clips this setting is already activated. Also noticing that the pan is always set to either left or right and im having to adjust that as well????

March 10, 2011 at 9:21 am in reply to: Colour grading monitor

I have budgeted for a colour grading monitor so am really keen to get hold of one so i can use it and really get my colour grading looking nice, Its an area that i am really interested in.

I looked at the monitor that you suggested but it looks like it isnt supplied here in the UK. Is there any alternatives that i can get in the UK for this price?

Also as im new to color grading i am un sure what this sentance means:

Also the software-based scopes which come with NLEs are notoriously un-reliable.

    Many thanks for your help.

Cheers everyone, im starting to get the idea now on what i need. I kinda want to keep the costs down, so am looking into getting a Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro HDMI Video Capture Card, as main reason is to link my mac to an external HD TV. But would this allow me to link up to a basic sound mixer and SD/HD tape deck?

Or could any one recommend one that could do this and keep the price low??

Im off to the Broadcast video expo in london in a few weeks so will also have a chat to some of the people working for Matrox, AJA, Black magic etc.

Again thanks for your help you have been really helpful.

No its just a intro motion piece, with a static background and the companies logos swinging in and out of the frame. I have currently imported the logos as pdf files from illustrator which are vector files and i have gone into inspector tab and then media and have unchecked the option for fixed resolution and i can see a slight improvement.

Maybe this is as good as it gets and i was just expecting the intro to look super sharp.
