I think that was Apple’s idea, but they’re more limited than subclips. With subclips you could subclip just the audio, the video, video and specific audio channels, and subclips could have overlapping media. With favorites, the video/audio selection always follows the master clip, and if two favorites overlap they become one large favorite. Very limiting, compared to subclips.
Submit a feature request to Apple about how you’d like to filter favorites only, independent of the master clip.

I’m curious how it’s faster. With color wheels you have shadows, midtones, and highlights. With the color board you have shadows, midtones, and highlights (and overall). And with the color board you have 3 separate tabs to cycle between for color/saturation/exposure. Seems like just as much, if not more, to juggle, with the color board than with a basic three way color plugin.

Depending on what you’re doing in the first node, you probably only need 2 nodes. First node is preLUT + LUT, second node is post LUT. See the order of operations here:

Only HSL curves, Channel Mix, Soft Clip, Defocus, and Node Sizing are applied after a LUT, on a node. So if you’re just adjusting exposure/contrast/color balance you can do it on the same node as the LUT and it will be identical to your 3-node structure.

When I submit feedback on an app, I’ve always submitted it under two headings:
PROBLEM: This is the problem I am having.
PROPOSED SOLUTION: Here is how I think it could be solved, or what I need to happen for it to no longer be a problem.I’ll have to think about how to better submit concise but clear stories.
