I’ve also recently had issues with importing using the Canon plugin, both on imports of over 200 clips and less than 10 clips. We’ve made it a rule moving forward to audit the imported clips duration against the original source clips prior to ejecting the card directory.

Not ideal, but it only takes a couple minutes even on large imports. Of course, you could always use an alternative method of converting to ProRes (Compressor or 5DtoRGB app), but the plugin’s other features keep me coming back to it every time.

We shopped jibs for our Canon 5DmkII package for awhile and we recently purchased the EZ Jib from ezfx.com. We bought it with the extension kit, which I highly recommend. It provides plenty of height, the build quality is good and it’s a piece of cake to assemble. We also got great service when we called with questions before purchase. We’ll be adding the wheels to it soon to make it easier to move after it’s set up.

Thank you Gary. Your post on ProVideoCoalition.com played a large part in our plans to move our facility to use of ProRes.

    Thanks for the help.

[Jeremy Garchow] “I would suggest some faster SATA storage (you didn’t mention what kind) that runs off of the Express34 card.”

Thank you for the quick response.

Will I need the ‘Pro’ version of the Express34 card? Tempo SATA Pro ExpressCard/34

And do you use the Sonnet Fusionâ„¢ F2 in your setup?
