Dear Luke,

I tried every configuration possible using the keyspan adapter.
The only thing left to do was send it back for a replacement.
I hope a new one will do the trick.

The odd thig is that through the decklink RS422
there is some communication happening with the Beta SP.
I do get VTR ok in the log capture window of FCP5.

Why can’t it control the deck though?
Personally, it was one of the main buying
points to getting the Decklink card!

It’s a pity that no one at Balckmagic has solved this problem.
It seems like such a waste of cables…

I have tried several different set-ups.
All to no avail. I even reinstalled FCP 5.
I just can’t get decklink to talk to the UVW1400a.
Sometimes on FCP log&capture window it will say VTR Ok.
But the deck doesn’t respond.
The black magic deck control always says No Commm.
I even bought the Keyspan 19HS adapter.
Installed the latest driver.
And still can’t get it to work…
There must be something I am missing.
I just don’t know what!
Please let me know if you have any other ideas,
