Hi,

I currently use Magic Bullet grinder to convert my footage vs using compressor. I have a 7D. I know that as long as you still have the “thm” files or equivalent for MKIII then you can preserve the timecode and convert to prores.

David, You nailed it. Thank you very much. I had Just started using my external Video drive from my Windows Workflow. I will Change up my Drives.

I have only spoken with Marketing and to be honest I’m just looking to see what industry professionals are doing. I plan on sitting down with some of the editors and hammering out some questions but I want to go in with some fuel.

@John, Actually That makes sense I should be comparing the Same Plugins

@Mike & @Steve – I totally agree, When I told my Professors at the college I’m going to I was questioned on why I would use such an elementary tool. I should be using FCP or Avid. I mean I started editing on my own for a businesses I run. 1000 Videos later, now I decided to go to school for Film and this is what I’m Finding out. Even my classmates agree… I’m almost embarrassed to admit it. So now im just looking to see why this may be. I’m Trying to learn the new tools and don’t get me wrong I have watched hours of tutorials on FCP via Lynda.com and I can edit a videos with ease. I just don’t understand all this extra render time. Especially with Mixed Media. I guess im just looking for some unbiased opinions.

@Greg That is my setup. I have a MacPro that I run windows on and edit with Vegas. and It seems you have the exact same experience as me.
