Michael was born in southern New Mexico but moved to St. Charles, Missouri at the age of two where he remained for 16 years. All thorough junior high school and high school, Michael’s goal was to head to California for film school. However, with little money to pay for such school Michael enlisted in the US Army and served proudly for four years with the 82nd Airborne as a paratrooper.
After the military, his journey through life took him to the University of Missouri Columbia where he dual-majored in Theatre (performance) and English (creative writing.) Following college he was the artistic director for the Midwest Renaissance Theatre Company for two years and then headed off to graduate school at the University of North Carolina, receiving his Master of Fine Arts with the Professional Acting Training Program at Playmakers Theatre. Michael then served as the co-artistic director of critically acclaimed The Open Door Theatre for five years. He has directed and acted for the stage in numerous critically acclaimed productions throughout the southwest and midwest.
Finally, after a number of years honing and broadening his artistic palette (see below), Michael has returned to the ambition he began with long ago, that of directing films. Michael is the director and owner of Bombshell Studios, LLC and has directed several music videos and a short narrative film, as well as several weddings for Bombshell Studios, LLC.
The journey until now had been quite the maze of jobs and experiences. Along the way Michael has been a janitor in a college library, a third-shift convenient store teller, an advertising designer, a web designer, a personal trainer (with a Masters in Exercise Physiology), a grocery store teller, an administrator for computerized testing, a pizza delivery driver, the mandatory waiter and many other odd jobs here and there.
He has lived in Hillsborough with his wife Krista since 2000.
