If they’d just brought their HD roadshow set-up and did demo’s like we saw at those events it would have created lots more “BUZZ”. Again – it didn’t give me much confidence in Optibase’s support of the Media100 division. Wondering if maybe buying the HD system was a bad move.

I felt sorry for the AVID presentors – every time I passed they would have maybe 15 – 25 people in their seating area – and right across the isle, the 100+ seating area at APPLE was packed with standing room only and people spilling into the isle.
Also dissappointed at Optibase’s placement of the Media100 area – on the backside of the large booth. Almost seemed like they said “We really want to sell our encoders but,well – if we have to include them lets just stick them back there”. They really needed to set-up a audience demo area and show-off what the HD system can do. It didn’t seem to imply that Media100 was a strong entity. Either to me or other potential buyers in the crowd.

We too are using FiberJet. When we added the XservRaid, Apples XSAN wasn’t available. FiberJet has worked great from day one and their tech support is very good. We don’t feel any need to switch to XSAN. Now if only we could get Media100 HD 10.1.1 to play back legacy files real time, all would be golden!

No – this is as simple as it gets. 1 video track, no titles in either a SD format or 1080iHD, 1 audio track. I thought that maybe a 100i file could be the problem, so I tried the SD and the HD test. And if the system should be able to deal with an 1080HD clip, why would a 100i clip trip it up? And like I said – these and much more complex programs worked fine in 10.0 on the exact same computer (other than the funky color and set-up problems with a 100i legacy clip).
Anyway, it’s got us scratching our heads. Maybe a software conflict with something else in our system- FCP, Compressor, DVDStudioPro, After Effects? (by the way, we are running OSX 10.3.8 ).
Still waiting to hear from Media100 Tech support.
