Hi I came across this thread and am having a problem. I can’t get my FCP system to locate my camera. I shot footage in HD 24p on the Canon XL H1 and I have the following settings on my computer using Final Cut Studio 2…

Set up FCP using an Easy Setup of “HDV – 1080P24”
Device Control is set to “HDV Firewire Basic NDF”
Capture Preset set to “HDV”.

However my system still isn’t getting a signal from my camera. Not sure if the settings on the camera are correct but I followed the manual which said to set [HDV] HD DOWN-CONV setting to OFF
