Thanks. Interesting that one can choose either Desktop or External Device for audio, but not both. Makes sense, I guess.

Thank you all for your helpful comments. I have a drive pretty much full of Canopus-captured clips that I do not wish to re-capture with Premiere, so the Canopus DV Converter is the answer. Thanks again
