Damn, like I thought. Thanks Charles.
I will have to action-script all the instances and possibilities?
Is it possible to simply create a script w/ panopticum water as a base in flash? I kind of have a grasp of all these tools, but am lacking the essential connections to make them all work together, so any help would be great!
Catch me if I’m wrong, but, there has to be a way to create a water base via action script that can react to other elements put on top.
If there is anything of the sort that would make this seem naturalistic, please do let me know!! Naturalistic is the key here, and many instances piled on top of each other will not really work as well as I would like.
Thanks in advance!!

So I am assuming you are using AE. You have to set the spill suppressor to suppress alpha channels.
The best Plugin for GSC is a combination of a Chroma Keyer that offers a range, a Spill Suppressor, and a good Matte Choker along with a Matte Fixer.
there are a lot of programs that can help further, so let me know if this helps.

woops, mistype here, meant to say:
Upon Client’s dis-satisfaction with the work, Client may keep all materials and all original documents, files, and work by the Dummy and has absolutely no obligation to pay for the work because of the inconvenience Dummy has caused the Client. This work, or its fragments, may be used to the clients disposal.

My best advice would be to go to them with a contract saying that they promise to pay the remaining amount upon receipt of the final version BEFORE you give them anything else, and MAKE them sign it. Email is actually admisable in court, so you are ok on that to prove your conversations, but not the same as a contract. DO make sure that you get this, and just act like it is a formality. If they plan to pay you the money, then it should be no problem for them.
Best of wishes!!

WOW, I totally think that I am slowly, but surely getting a very secure contract here!!! And the sad thing is is that I actually paid media lawyers and professionals to do mine. With a little translation, I think that we are totally starting to create a professional, bullet-proof contract!! YEY for all of us who had to learn the hard way!
Keep it going guys, we need you!
Btw, I also work as a Freelance Multi-Media Designer (since graduating college 2 years ago) and get called in for crazy interviews all the time. Many of them don’t even to bother viewing my online portfolio or my resume before they start off on a seriously questionable line of questioning. Thank god I do these just for fun. If we are writing a screenplay on this thread ‘m in! So this is for all of you who are just starting out like me!
PS if you haven’t seen the movie “The Pilot” it is totally worth it, starring david duckovny and some other big stars.

By signing said contract, Dummy is bound to the Client for life, and must offer to redo, at no charge, any work dictated by the Client for any reason. If the client states that they are unsatisfied on any detail of the project, this forfeits the Dummy’s priviledge to be able to charge for materials, supplies, and their fee. Client reserves the right to keep all finished work and to use it to their disposal.

Thanks Kevin, I will definitely take you up on the configurations. I have been looking for a safe way to render in the background while still being able to work, and the above configuration sounds hopeful. I have pretty much given up on nucleo, and am using the simple BGrender script, which seems to work better.
Thanks again!

Well, unfortunately, we are not all blessed like you and can afford multiple computers, or to just not use the computer for a few hours while rendering is going. Secondly, rendering in the background while working with different applications, and even continuing to work in AE, has been around for a while now since BGrender. We all can’t afford to lose the productivity loss of AE stalling while rendering. Thirdly, I think your response was a bit rude, and ungrounded. You can look into AEscripts.com to find BGrender and all kinds of other helpful scripts, and perhaps some can help you improve your worktime.

February 10, 2009 at 8:26 pm in reply to: Illustrator Brush Vectors won’t Vectorize in AE cs4So, after trying all of the above to no avail, I decided to just give my computer a break by restarting, running some maintenance apps, (repair permissions, clean cache etc). Then, lo and behold, everything works like a charm… all of my layers are coming in even in the right place, and are wonderfully continually rasterized. The .ai files were all CS4 as well. Well, next time something doesn’t work this will definitely be my FIRST step!
Thanks For all your help Kevin!

February 9, 2009 at 4:16 am in reply to: Illustrator Brush Vectors won’t Vectorize in AE cs4Thanks for the response, but unfortunately, no dice. I tried to expand appearance, outline stroke, rasterize then live paint (which leads to wavy edges and would be a pain to do for each one). I am wondering if there is a way to import the brushes into AE. Maybe that would solve the problem?
I am beginning to wonder why there is no problem importing these into flash, but AE is having so much trouble. I will eventually have to use AE for the camera effects, and import from Maya, plus I will need to tweak the flash to match. Are there any resources out there that could help? I already have lynda.com, and there’s nothing there.
Appreciated!
