    “Drive specs?”

here’s all the specs. But – this doesn’t explain why it worked with rendering in the first sequence but shows up as unrendered in the second sequence.

The source files are on a cheap Western Digital WDG1C5000N My Book Premium Edition 500 GB USB 2.0/Firewire External Hard Drive. But, this shouldn’t be why it’s unrendered. The first sequence’s footage was on the same drive.

    Hardware Overview:

    Machine Name: Power Mac G5
    Machine Model: PowerMac11,2
    CPU Type: PowerPC G5 (1.1)
    Number Of CPUs: 2
    CPU Speed: 2.3 GHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 1 MB
    Memory: 5 GB
    Bus Speed: 1.15 GHz
    Boot ROM Version: 5.2.7f1
    Serial Number: G86083T2UV1

I’m running on Mac G5 2.3ghz / 5gig ram. Should be fast enough. Here’s the other catch. Scopes are not turned on.

This happened a few days ago with the first batch I imported from the DTE drive. I changed the sequence settings to match the source files ad that fixed the first render problem. But, now that I have started a new sequence using different clips from the same DTE import – the footage in the timeline is unrendered.

This is really puzzling and now 1 day behind schedule. Any ideas? Please, Please!!

I’m using FCP 5.1.4 – any other ideas?

“Final Cut Pro will ask if you want the Sequence to match the Clip. Say Yes.”

I tried this. FCP 5 does not ask this question.

Still unrendered. I checked those settings prior to posting. Here’s what I’ve got: in the Browser the Formats of the clips have a vid rate of 29.97; Frame size 1440×1080; Compressor HDV 1080i60; Aspect HD 1440×1080. In the Easy Setup: Rate 29.97; Seq Preset HDV 1080i60.

What am I missing? Thanks for the help guys!
