I started a subscription at lynda.com the other day and I’m working my way through the “essentials” now.Will mastering AE be enought or is photoshop a necessity for the animations I mentioned in my earlier post?

Thank you very much for the explanation, very well described. Then I will start of with a simple monitor, either U2410 or U2412M. Anyone you would recommend more then the other?

Hi Fabrizio and thanks for the answer! Like you assumed I do have some external drives I forgot to mention. Therefore I’m now searching for a new monitor to expand my desktop, starting with one extra and taking it from there. If you have any proposals it would be great. Right now I’m looking at the Dell U2410 or U2412M not really sure the about the difference yet. Also what’s the proper way to connect it? Is it through mini displayport with vga, dvi or hdmi …. Thank you once again.

Perfect then the TV is out of the way. Like I wrote, I was initially looking for just a screen to expand my work area. But I do been doing more and more color grading so maybe I should make more of an investment. Cause I ultimately want to set up a very basic postproduction studio/area at home. What are your thoughts on this? What is really essential equipment I need like for sound, image and so on. Cause the only thing I have right now is the computer with software. Once again thank you so much for the help.
