the time pressure generate’s more bad labeled stuff. so that’s twice the pain.
next to that we try to cleanup local drive’s after every job but for some reason file’s and up in folders/directories where nobody will ever look in.
not even talking about people realy p&*^&* off that i deleted a Comp1.mov file in a plugin directory of photoshop. ???????

    Hi Baz

maybe a bit late but i found out where you can adjust the headroom of your meters in a DVW500.
this is done in a hidden menu.
    first
    ==> NEVER EVER <==
Do things in this menu if you don’t know what it is. adjusment can look if they did not do anything but you can endup with tape’s that can only be playedback in your deck. due to differences in RFlevels on the tape.

if your lucky you can enter this menu with the frontpanel.
when your in the standard menu keep CTLpressed and momentary press SET.

if the menu does not change you need to open the deck and change
BIT7 on Dipswitch S100 on the SSboard. the longboard nearest to the drum on the right when the frontpanel face you.(wow hope you find it)
this gives you access to the special menu.

when your in the special menu you can navigate with the menu button the set button. changing things goes the same way as in the normal menu.

    go to menu C4
and then to C47 here you will find your meter setup.

    succes

    hi all

well i wonder why they so specificly are talking about a 24inch 1920@1200display.
is this funny card giving the GUI pixels instead of data?
i guess a low res panel will always degrade the optical part of the measurement.
we all know the OSD scope’s of the earlyday’s from hamlet/leader.
why did we hate them because the fuzzy picture did not compare to the razorsharp CRTscope’s
but the ADC’s in these old boxes did not lie.
i guess downscaling gives the same trouble although in a lesser degree.
to minimize this effect you should question your self where you want to scale in the display or in the videocard???

    hi bob

although i understand that these drive array systems are not made for nothing.
i have the strong feel that the red pencil of my boss will cancel the whole replacement.
there must be a disadvantage of the last option you mention. i guess you can tell me what that is.

for the other part how must i see the flowchart of a proress project in combination with the decklinkcard i mentioned.

decklink capturing uncompressed ==> Processors/OS encoding to prores ==> disks storing the smaller bandwith stream.
or is the OS/Program more a traffic manager and does the card have a hardware encoder. i guess not when i see the price.

there is only ONE stupid question.
and that’s the ONE not being asked.

although the client is king we can help each other out in this typical daily question.
there is only one who can tell what they want and that’s the client.
and of coarse you need to cantact them first.
but they some time’s have a complicated /weird way of doing this.

often the solution is one little checkbox in your software. or a menu setting in your VTR.
but you can search for this for ever.

    in the Compression techniques forum

there is a topic which always stands on top named
How to get FASTEST compression help – PLEASE READ

maybe there should be a forum and a PleaseRead thread for
    deliverySpec’s

June 3, 2009 at 9:36 pm in reply to: Resize output of the Panasonic AG-MX70?

    sorry

no go. you need extra equipment to do this.
the PIP function use both busses meaning both Framesyncronizers so there will be no more left
to do the dissolves. cut/cut can be done by genlocking all signals. but i don’t know
if this can be done in your setup

I find it hard to see
the picture is a bit of lowquality.
    but it seems the one
well i don’t know your shooting conditions
but you will always need a mixer in this setup. maybe the easyes way is to tape a XLRcable next to the component cable
