Thanks.

Genius – you’re right that’s it! Pulled the Apple white paper on Target Data Rates for ProRes 422 @23.976 fps and it’s 117 Mb/s…and EditReady kicked out the ProRes at 110 Mb/s in line with Apple Target Data Rate. My original file was just a bit higher at 131 Mb/s. Those shots were from a hacked Panasonic GH2 with higher bitrate than standard factory standard of ~28 Mb/s.
Since I’m going from my original file at 131 Mb/s to ProRes 110 Mb/s, am I going to see a bit of a quality drop in the image quality? If so, I guess I could use EditReady to transcode to ProResHQ which comes in at ~176 Mb/s.
Thanks,

Thanks guys for helping me round out my ideas. I think I’m all set. I appreciate your thoughts.

I was under the impression that the noise reduction capacity in Audition was somewhat better than FCPX, as well as the options to more types of equalizers in Audition. So with that in mind, I was trying to maintain quality as I transfer project from FCPX to Audition so didn’t know if gain adjustment is better or level adjustment is better? I also wanted the ability to have all my audio adjustments that I make in FCPX visible when I take the project into Audition, as well as be able to modify them in Audition, so not sure if gain adjustments “bake in”…vs clip volume levels which may stay adjustable?
Thanks!

Hi all,
To clarify my question – other than having my source media backed up on different hard drives, do I need to backup just the FCPX project file, or do I also need to backup the FCPX event and/or FCPX library that the project is in?
Thanks,
Matt -
Hi Noah,
Would you say my backup protocol has me covered if I’m only backing up the project files and footage as I described?
Thanks,
Matt -
