Sorry Joby, one quick question related to external drives. Would this less expensive 4TB Lacie drive suffice for the drive where I’m moving these original camera files? It’s just for safe keeping, so I’m assuming that I don’t need to pay for a fast/higher quality drive, right?

Thanks so much for your reply Joby, that is really helpful and I’m relieved to know that so far I’ve done what I need to do. Just to clarify, when you say that I should keep roughly 85% of free space on my 4TB media drive, do you mean that I shouldn’t exceed 85%, or do you mean that I should leave 85% of that 4TB as free space? I’m assuming you mean to leave 15% of the drive free to avoid slowdowns and file corruption but want to be sure that I understand you. My plan from my original post is to remove the original (camera files) from that 4TB media drive and copy/paste them to a new drive which would clear up about 2TB of space putting me at about 50% usage on that 4TB media drive.

One more (probably stupid) question. After I copy/paste those original camera files from my drive to a new drive for safe keeping, , should I simply put those copied original files (on the 4TB drive) in the trash and empty the trash, or is there a step that I’m missing?

Hi Mark, I appreciate your feedback and I think we’re in good shape either way, as the eyelines work in both cases. Sorry that I’m replying months after my original post, we’ve been busy and I forgot to check back. Anyway, here are screen grabs of the two shots. My point was that the one-shot where the man is on the left third, doesn’t give enough lead space and it felt weird to me, so my preference was to keep him on the right third in the one-shot. Thanks again!

Thanks Todd & Mark. I really appreciate your feedback. The room that I’m shooting in has big windows on two sides so there will be a ton of sunlight and hopefully I’ll only need some balanced lights to create a good feel. I’ll try the gel + bounce board approach for sure.

I had the same problem and tried a variety of audio settings in AE with no luck. I ended up reducing the quality of the wav file in an audio editor and re-importing in AE.
I have moderate experience with After Effects, but have always stumbled around importing audio files that do not accompany video footage.
