Hi GPGPGP.
If you’d like, you could send me the 3DSMax file. I’d be happy to take a look and see where it’s failing.
Send the file to: matt@zaxwerks.com
Thanks.

Hi Carlos.
I did a quick test and I think the results came out pretty well:
https://www.motivatedpixels.com/banner_3d_flag.mov
(1.6 Megs — I’ll keep the file around for a few days)The tips I’d give are:
– Make a Comp (or image) for your banner — mine was 1500×100 pixels
– I set Gravity to 1 and the Wind Speed to 3. I also pointed the wind right at the banners (Angle: 0 Elev: -10)
– For the flag parameters, I set the Bend and Shear values to 0 so that it didn’t bounce around too much
– I set the Horizontal Mesh to 18 and Vertical Mesh to 26 so that the folds would be horizontal
– In order to make sure there wasn’t too much bounce, I set Conform to 100
– I faked the blur and added some other movement fakery to get it to matchNote that this was a quick test, so I didn’t spend too much time trying to match up the look, lighting, or motion.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Frank.
When an object is duplicated, the same Object Style is used for both objects.
To remove this link, do the following:
1. Select the second object
2. Open the Object Styles tab
3. Select Swatch > Unlink Object StyleNow the second object’s materials can be modified without affecting the first object.
Let us know if you have any more questions.

Hi Laurie.
Thanks for the info.
If you could send me a file that is giving you trouble (a good example file that shows how you’re using Zaxwerks — Comps embedded in Comps, etc.), I’d like to take a look. It may lead to clues or a repeatable problem that will help us track down any bugs.
You can send one (or more) .aep files to: matt@zaxwerks.com
Thanks a lot.

Hi Laurie.
Do you have a particular file that’s giving you trouble?
If so, would you mind sending it to me so that I can take
a look? You can send it (just the .aep file) to: matt@zaxwerks.comIn particular, I’d like to find out what you’re doing when
the Invig crashes. Are you dragging objects, changing
materials, etc.Thanks.

Hi Jay.
Thanks for the suggestion.
We’ve discussed ways to make the Font menu easier to use, so an improvement
will likely show up in a future version.Matt Rhodes

Hi Vince.
Take a look at ProAnimator 4.0 (out any day now). It makes this sort of animation easy.
