  • I know it’s been a while but…

I’m having same issue at the moment and if there’s a solution – I’d like to hear it too.

Working on (or trying, these hangs can take almost half an hour to go away) late2013 iMac 3.5 GHz gtx775 32GB ram, OSX 10.8 and PP cs6.

prproj file is almost 1,5 GB, so it’s quite large project.

Upgrade isn’t a solution, can’t upgrade OSX at the moment so no PremierePro CC.

Thanks, I do have a Pro version so I try your solution. At the moment I precomped every clip and cpropped/tiled upper and lower edge of the clip. I tried to make a matte for FG1 but I didn’t precomped it, that’s why it didn’t work as I thought.

You’re right, we aren’t encoding files for DVD.

Problem is, neither Compressor or Cleaner doesn’t allow higher bitrates than 10 – 12 Mbit/s when encoding. We tried TMPGEnc -software as client suggested, but still no bitrates over 12 Mbit/s (plus it can’t handle QuickTime video). Quality isn’t really suitable for broadcast with these rates.

Is there a software that can do MPEG-2 with higher bitrates ?

Oh, yes videos are normal 720 x 576 PAL.
