I am being incredibly frustrated by this bug right now. I shot 1080 24pA, did the “remove pulldown” in Log and Transfer, and still ended up with 29.97 files in my bin. So I used tools>>remove advanced pulldown, and end up with files that are 23.98. Hooray, or so I thought. Turns out every 4th frame is interlaced. I’m going to try the free tip of exporting out at 60i and going back in, and will report back.

Well, I’m not sure exactly what happened, but I found the answer from Noah K. What I did was select all the clips in my bin, go to tools>>remove advanced pull down, and let that go to work. Then I selected everything in my sequence, created a new timeline at 23.98, and pasted it in there. There were a few sync hiccups and editing gaps due to the fact that I cut out quite a few frames, but it just took a quick pass over it to get it in working order, and in 24p!

    Hey,

Yes there are. There are two audio files for every video file. The problem is getting them to load and play in the same NLE. Is there an program out there that will convert raw .mxf files? I’ll have to try procoder when I get home.

Well, Copy and Paste has served me well on the PC workflow I’ve been using. Obviously, lesson learned RE: OSX and drag n’ drop / cut and paste whatever. It’s P2CMS on all platforms for me, from here on out.

Meantime, I do not have FXFactory. Other cards I have are importing fine.

Strangely, Edius is giving me video but no audio when I import the folders, for 3 of the 4 card data folders. Premeire CS3 gives me audio, and “red bar” video, but the “red bar” video is just a still frame that persists throughout the length of the clip if it’s rendered or not, and weather i’m playing the clip or scrubbing through frame by frame. I feel like this is salvageable, and at the very least i can match up the audio and video of the 3 folders, but I’m hoping that I’m missing something somehow…

Thanks for the info. I had assumed that blu-ray burners were still well out of my price range without checking it out, but it seems they’re quite affordable now. Thanks again.

so do most people then just make a blu-ray disc image or dvd folder in Encore, and then bring it to a duplicating house? I’m buying my first HD camera soon, and figuring out my delivery workflow.
