  • Thank you!

I’m away from home but tomorrow I’ll try your suggestion, it sounds like the right way to go

I don’t typically use transitions much in my day to day editing, I’ve started doing short videos for a realtor friend with tons of 3-5 second clips

It’s a whole different style of editing for me

  • Thank you for the help!

So I went and checked, the first frame of second sequence is 100% black and the following frames fade from black to the next sequence

the head of the transition is fine, no black at all

I’m not sure if is the same thing, but my video card supports two monitors

The first one is for everything and the second one just shows the video output from premiere

To do this you just go into the premiere preferences and it’s in there, it shows my second output device and I just select it and it starts working right away

    Hope that helps

  • Well I’m at the point where I am now able to manipulate the audio, nothing is locked anymore…

But the tracks are separate “mono” tracks except they a all playing in the left and right channels

In other words they are still routed to the channel that they went to when it was “stereo”

Only fix I can find is to go into audition but then it shows the audio for the entire clip without any deference to where the trim points where

Plus this is a 40 minute piece with a couple hundred clips!

All I can think of is to out put the. Whole project into an mp4 etc and then take the audio in one big piece into audition and then make it dual mono all the way through…

    Not my first choice

  • So I got a chance to sit down with the person who did the final cut pro editing, the audio tracks weren’t locked, but they were stereo pairs

He was able to undo that so now I have two mono tracks…

The recording was done with one microphone sent to both channels set for different levels

So I now have a whole bunch of separate Left and Right mono tracks!

What’s the best way for me to get to having either a dual mono track or just one mono track??

  • I’m not the one who started it in FCP but I’ll definitely ask him those questions

    Thanks for the helpful suggestions!

  • The fill left/fill right trick works great but keep in mind it’ll just give you the same thing in both tracks…

  • thanks for the help, i will give the tracking a try, the one thing i’m not sure about when it comes to using tracking for this application is i’m constantly having to resample the guys hair as the texture and variations change constantly

can you track and still do that? i think of tracking being for when your replacing a set object like a logo…

  • You could try the premier pro benchmark project and see if it craps out rendering that…

I have nothing to do with those folks, I just found their site very helpful as I’ve been upgrading my older dual Xeon quad core system…

I also have the quadro 4000, just upgraded from a quadro 3700

  • Hello

Are you using footage that originated from a go pro hero camera?
