    Hey Michael,

I’d love to edit the film for you. I have experience editing Documentary and narrative work. Please email me if you’re interested at martin@mjbhomeentertainment.com

My website is https://www.martinbentsen.com, I have been editing and shooting wedding/event videos for a long time.

Additionally, I have shot and edited a feature film called “Mozart of Rap” at https://www.mozartofrap.com. You can see the trailer for the film there, which is a trailer that I edited.

Let me know if you’d like me to send some more samples of work, but I am very experienced in Final Cut 7 and am an extremely fast editor.

Thanks, and I hope to hear from you.

No I saw the opposite. They are normally supposed to come in as sequences so you can edit the layers in FC. I was worried about it because they weren’t and I needed them to.

    GOT IT!

Tried all of the first tips, then got to creating the psd file in fcp and copying the layers over. That worked! I guess it must be some sort of issue with the photoshop file. I told my client to change the settings and copy the files over, so everything should be fine.

Thanks again to everyone who helped!

    IMPORTANT (maybe)

I realized the photoshop files I was given have separate frames in them… I don’;t know much about motion and frames in photoshop, but this may have something to do with it not importing correctly.

Is this possible? Is there a way to turn off the frame/video options in Photoshop and just make this a still image .psd file?

Never mind, I figured it out. And yes, it was already in RGB and still not working.

Yes, I had read that when searching earlier today, but couldn’t find a clear answer on how to change that. How can I go about switching the color space to RGB from CMYK (if it’s not already in RGB space)?

There are no sequence settings for the psd files, that is the problem. they are importing as a flat image file. Take a look:

I changed the external editor setting to photoshop, but still not working, as you suggested.

    I am using photoshop CS4, version 11.0.2

Thank you for responding so quickly!

I tried both of what you said, you were right, and I had some unrasterized layers, so I rasterized everything. When that didn’t work, i tried creating new empty layers and merging them with the existing ones, but that didn’t work either.

I’m beginning to think that there might be a preference in Final Cut Pro that changes imported psd files to flattened files? I don’t know if this is a possibility, but if it is, how would I go about fixing that? Otherwise, could there be any other things that I can try in photoshop?

Thank you so much, your help is greatly appreciated.
