    Thank you both for replying. I will experiment with these methods although I am actually a beginner to all of this so this is probably very advanced for me as an ‘animation codec’ that’s something in adobe after effects right, actually could anyone explain what that is? I will have a go and post up the result. Many thanks anyway.

    I see. But wouldn’t it be easier for the image to be just the image size and the canvas to just be the document size surely? I don’t understand why photoshop have done things the way you explain as both the canvas size and image size always toggle to be exactly the same size. Just weird.

    Hi,
    thank you for replying. It makes sense in that it does not make any sense at all! That’s ok though as there will probably never be a time when I will have to have a canvas size of a different size to the image size as I will select my image to be the same size as a one frame of a camcorder. Thank you so much for your help though. I will try to reread your post again and understand what you are saying. Thank you.

    Got it! The image size is the image plus the canvas whereas the canvas size is just the canvas.

    Hi there,
    Can you tell me which programme ‘motion’ is please? Also would I draw the text on a piece of paper scan it manipulate it in photoshop and then put it into motion or what. If I know what the programme is I will learn how to use it and then maybe work out how to do this. Thank you.
