UPDATE: Just read that the absence of a DV capture option in my PPro CC 2020 is due to the framework that PPro used for DV capture disappearing from Catalina (a 32-bit -> 64-bit thing?). Anyone know of hardware that might remedy this?

Hi. Old cheap dumb guy back again. I should have clarified I have a MacBook Pro (running Catalina). I also should have clarified that what I am dreaming of is taking video from the XL2’s S-video port (in camera mode, not playback mode) and capturing it in Premiere CC 2020 (I have a Firewire-to-Thunderbolt cable). Though I’ve begun to fear that I can’t even capture DV into PPro CC 2020, only HDV? Again, all apologies, especially if the answer to my problem is already in the above replies and I’m too dumb to see it.
