    I appreciate all the feedback!

    After a full day messing around with AudioSuite and RTAS I think what i need to do is use the Compressor/Limiter through the AudioSuite. Just seems to work better and being clip based instead of affecting the entire track you have more control over it. RTAS as someone else mentioned seems to be sketchy.

    It still seems like the FCP compressor sounds better but i’m still getting to know AudioSuite so perhaps i will figure out all of the nuances.

    I tried to install QT 7 but it wouldn’t let me since Quicktime X was on there already. That was strange because i had both on my computer previous to the OS upgrade.

    I work on 30 min segments that i provide to execs for viewing. Up until now my workflow has been that i export reference files and make them 480p in Quicktime. The reference files are much quicker to export and this allows me to continue working in FCP while its being converted in QT as well as take up less memory.

    Self contained files work fine. No problem at all.
