If I gave money for this I would be more careful 🙂 I got it as a present from a person who bought a new MacBook Pro, but the problem is that he is far away and I was looking for an easier way to reinstall the program. I’ll just tell him to mail everything to me, and postpone the reinstall until then.

A person gave $23492349234239487290348 for a legal copy of FCP and installed it on a laptop. The same person gave me the laptop with the program, and in a normal world that means I own them both. So I DO own the program. There is only one version of the program and it’s on a laptop that I own. I can’t install new system without being sure that I can have legal FCP on it. If I don’t find a way to do it, I will be stuck with a laptop that has a default language which I don’t speak

I understand why this could look like piracy. The thing is that I got a used MacBook Pro laptop in french with french Final Cut Pro installed. I set english language, but there are still some parts of the french language (like login screen). That’s why I would like to format the drive and install a fresh english system.
So, it wasn’t me who installed Final Cut Pro on this computer and that’s why I don’t know the standard installation procedure. So please tell me how to extract the information I need for installing FCP again if that’s allowed

Yes, I referred to that. Is there a way to save the key from currently installed program so I can install it after a format with the same key, or is there a way to copy this program i have and just paste it when I reinstall the new operating system.
