My mistake. It’s not just the “sharpen” effect, it can be any effect; even the basic ones.

Caches are always on SSD. A while ago, like a long time ago, caches used to be on my HDD and I had no rendering issues too. It was a bit longer but it wasn’t that bad unlike right now.

I’m not sure what you meant by H264 source material. All of my H264 are either in MP4, M2TS and TS. They all have the same problem (rendering issue). I record gameplay from my console through my recorder via USB connection (PC <--- recorder ---> console)

I’ve trashed the preferences. Nothing changes. Even cleaned every trace of Adobe when re-installing the product, and again no change in rendering speed.

I’m going to look for better tools to test the RAM sticks to ensure they are working 100%

I always store my caches on my SSD.

I’ve tried moving the video from one of my HDDs to my SSD to see any difference, but no change again.

Before this problem occured. All I did was installing a 3rd HDD and a PCI-Express network adapter. Tomorrow, I’ll unplug that HDD and the network adapter and see it works. If it is fixed, could it be my 700watt Corsair PSU? I’ve always thought that HDDs and PCI express use relatively very low watt.

I forgot to mention…

Before this problem happened, I could apply a lot of effects and the render is typically 30 mins ~ 1 hour to finish. But not anymore now.

I’ve also re-installed my whole system from scratch (re-applied thermal paste, cleaned every bit of dust, etc…) The problem still remains. Hardware issue or software issue?

Hm… What if I disable my 3rd HDD and the network card adapter and maybe that would fix the problem? But I don’t know. Another option is re-installing Windows, but I’m not sure what’s the best way to do this… I.e. Most of my non-Adobe programs are installed on my other HDDs but thier register values / certain drivers are on my SSD…

I’ve also posted this on the Adobe forums, but nobody there have helped me for a while…
