Hmm, sound like a good approach depending on the project. Guess I’ll just use the Comment metadata field so I don’t have to make more data. That field seems to stay independent.

Hi Joe,

Been working with making sub clips. What I’ve been doing is making a sub clip of the entire clip in pieces so I know what’s in each piece. When I name the file, I’ve been keeping part of the original name (the original name of the clip) and deleting the rest of the name and replace it with “-001 Short Description”. This way, I know which part came from where in the clip order with the -001, -002 etc and the description tells me what’s in that clip.

Do you have another approach to this?

What I’m having trouble with is, after I have all the sub-clips made, I want to label them in a color or star rating so I can tell the useful from the useless. Unfortunately, Adobe does not separate the clip from the original file with regard to color coding, labeling or star rating (shame on you Adobe) what were they thinking? If I have a piece of footage called “GOPRO1234.mp4 and I make a sub-clip from it called “GOPRO1234-001 Swimmer” when I label, star rate or color code the sub-clip, it does the same thing to the footage it came from. That means if I have four sub-clips and I star rate any of them, all of them, including the footage they came from get the same star rating applied.

Do you have any better ideas on this?
