March 10, 2013 at 8:37 pm in reply to: ATEM Television Studio QUESTIONS!

Hey guys, after hours of frustration trying to get my macbook pro to connect the ATEM TVS software controller, I finally found the solution:

    ATEM
IP 192.168.10.240 (this is the factory default)
    Subnet 255.255,255.0
    Gateway 192.168.10.1

    Mac Pro Ethernet port
    IP 192.168.10.1
    Subnet 255.255.255.0
Gateway (this is the tricky thing). Try 192.168.10.1 (yes.. I know seems odd). If there is any way to leave it bank…you could also try that (but I’d don’t think so)

Then use your existing wifi settings unchanged.

What we want Is for your MacBook to see two different networks. One is setup to connect just between your Ethernet port and the ATEM. Then hopefully for all other routes (to the Internet) it will know to go via the wifi.

Hope this works magic for you like it did for me and thank you Liam Kennedy!

    I’m using external WD MyBook’s.

If it is a PCI-Slot card conlict…which slot does my P6000 card go into. I will change it.

What are your suggested updates? I will update.

Please ignore my ignorance…SCSI Card…how do I tell if I have one.

Thanks for taking time with me. If I can get this performing properly again…I’ll be delighted!

It doesn’t happen when I use iMovie or FCP on the same machine and same external hard drives…just media 100.

It’s weird but I could swear it’s occurring as the media just sits there in the timeline. I’ll clean up(delete) the flickers(single bad frames) as I go but more end up appearing when I go back over the timeline.

I’m using 8.2.3 on a G4 with mybook external hard drives. I’m getting these flickers in the mini dv footage I’ve imported into my timeline. When I move my playhead very slowly over the flicker it turns out to be a single frame that if I remove and bring the footage together…I get away with it not being too jumpy noticeable. However this latest project, the flickers are more frequent and very time consuming getting rid of these “bad frames”…very frustrating. I’d appreciate help, thank you.

I’m honored! Thanks a million Floh for taking time. I’m going to check media 100’s website for the new “Producer”.

I’m still waiting to upgrade from 8.2.2 to 8.2.3. on my G4 933mhz.

This has been my busiest summer yet and I’m still trying to catch up so I can clear out all my projects before I perform the “full install”.

I don’t want to take a chance in losing anything.

    Thanks again…

Hey guys, thanks a lot for your quick response. Here’s how it got done last night & into part of the day today. From the edit suite window, I exported using the quicktime/DV codec…is that the right word to use, codec? In the past I would always use “by reference” option.

The 20 minute wedding ceremony took 3 hours (4 gig file) to export while the 33 minute reception took 5 hours and was over 6 gigs.

I got home from work today and thank God it worked. A nice looking disc, beautiful.

I’m just bummed it has to take so long to export. I wish I could go back to getting it done “by reference”, it saved a ton of time.

Any suggestions on how to get it done faster but keep the same quality as the quicktime/DV codec provided me.

Floh maybe…by the way Floh, you’re my hero! I wish I could be just like you. I’d be a millionaire! Ha, Ha.

Thanks you guys…have a good weekend.

  • I did the tune up deal. Am now running 8.2.2. It’s great! 1st you have to upgrade to OSX, I have panther, no problems.

July 7, 2005 at 8:08 pm in reply to: Upgrade to Media 100 HD?

I was simply wondering if an upgrade from 8.2.2 to Media 100 HD was available without having to pay full price to purchase the entire Media 100 HD system, since my current system works just fine. It was 9pm and the offices of media 100 were closed so I thought I’d go this route to get my answer but am sorry I did. I wasn’t expecting a rude German response but I got it and now I know how you are. Way to go Mike, thanks a lot. I’ve been a regular visitor to the Creative Cow forum for several years and will continue to be because I will always strive to be as knowledgable as I can with my craft. I guess I’ll have to be a little more careful with the way I word my post in knowing there are people like you out there who will take things out of context. All this from my first ever post…whew.

  • After I edit with my Media 100, I dump the project to DVCam and then import into Final Cut. If there’s a better way, I’d be interested to know.
