Wow! A lot of great input. Thank you everyone! Makes me feel more comfortable about my expensive purchase, if nothing else. I bought the RAID primarily for peace of mind to protect my client data. But was hopeful increased rendering speed would be a lucky bonus.

Thanks again everyone for your insights.

Thanks Allen, for the response. I’m a little bit technical, but I think you are basically saying my rendering speed is what it is based on my current computer system and the Dulce Drives will not help much in that Department. Bummer.

I’m on FC6.06. Has that issue been addressed and will I improve rendering performance with a V7 Upgrade?

    Thanks again.

Sam, your memory is still in tact. We tested the disabled sequence clips and PRESTO, the output to tape starts up with no forced re render.

You just saved us HOURS (and me lots of money!) of frustrating time watching my projects re render.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your support on this site. You guys are always so helpful and generous with your time!

Hi, Sam. I’m using 6.06. Yes, we do disable sequence clips often. I am almost sure however, the last few spots had no disabled clips. Worth another look, though. Will test and respond with an update.

Shane, thanks for your tip. Waiting for my editor to confirm his setup. Will update on that one as well.

Lisa, someone else may know more, but my solution came in this thread. As soon as I installed the full version of Flip4Mac, WA-LAA. Done. I have WMV conversion at my fingertips.

It was an easy solution. The option pops right up there in FCP.

Andy, I lied. One more question!

I have set up a two-camera multi-clip edit to switch back and forth. But when I lay the Guides over the multi-clip sequence, the two clips no longer show in the Viewer, only the Guides.

Can I not use the Guides in a multi-clip edit setting?

    Thanks,

Thanks, Andy. One last confirmation from you about the guide’s color bars.

Red is title safe, green is graphic safe, and blue is absolute 4×3 border, correct?

    Thanks,
