QT Movie File Output For DVD Studio Pro Authoring
Is it acceptable from a quality standpoint to export a full Quicktime Movie of my timeline and use that source file to author DVD’s from DVD Studio Pro?
I am still learning to use Compressor and have not mastered the proper use of settings to produce quality DVD videos. But I can output a QT Movie and do so.

Yes you can do it. Just Import the QT into FCP and set your settings (Sd max. 6.2-7.4 Mbs plus Audio)
and the DVD Studio does the compression.Rainer

Compressor’s default DVD settings are a great place to start and can be adjusted or not whether you know a lot or just a little.
At times DSP’s compressor has given me better results than any tweaked Compressor setting but it hasn’t been updated in years so I only use it when I’m in a jam. DSP will create an aif file of your audio and I would recommend creating an AC3 since the quality is excellent and it can be almost 1/5 or less of the original aif.
