We never ever post anything or put anything on our reel without permission from our client. Unless there is an agreement that states otherwise, the client owns that animation. They paid for it. You are your sub contractor’s client and he should likewise not post anything without your permission. If he does it is reasonable to ask him to remove it. If he refuses then that’s one less sub you hire in the future.

Yes. That is typically the case but they don’t have one and are looking for guidance. They are contacting their legal department for this but hoped to give that department something to move this process along a bit quicker.

You could light a white wall in the background and keep them far enough in front of it to avoid spill so they are not lit. This would give the silhouette a more dimensional look.

Absolutely Peter. I just use this as a rule of thumb…aperture, focal length and shutter have to be a consideration. Here’s something we did a few years back in 35mm that demonstrates this even with mountains. Watch the pine tree in the foreground a few seconds in and count how long it takes to cross frame. By the way, the logo was added to the barn in post.

When shooting film at 24fps I have always fallen back to the 7 second rule; an object in frame takes 7 seconds to go from one edge to the other when panning. This is certainly not fool proof at all shutter speeds but I’ve never suffered from the stutters.

I know this is silly but did you actually select/highlight the tracks on the timeline before trying the unlink button? By the way, holding “option” while selecting a track that is linked will unlink it. This is a quick way to select a single track to delete or trim without affecting the other track(s).
