I’ve been very busy lately so i didnt have time to read your last reply re: my question. I did a new project in premiere 2.0 but now my source video was a sony dcr-hc28 which is a mini-dv camcorder and i captured it via firewire. It was a 1.5 hour long video (i used 2 tapes) and the size was over 20GB (As far a i know, raw AVI file works well with adobe premiere). I’ve changed the whole process, instead of extorting it to a mpeg file and burn it to DVD using nero, What i did was i directly exported the video to DVD (Export to DVD) and i selected NTSC DV 4×3 High Quality 7MB CBR 1 Pass, which is a default setting. I remember what u said, that if the length of the video is over 90 mins, its better to use VBR than CBR and that’s what i exactly did though i had hard time adjusting the minimun, target and maximum bitrate coz it wont fit to a 4.7GB DVD. After all the changes i’ve done, still the video looks bad. the horizontal lines (i think this is what they called combing effect)and the blurry motion are still there. I dont know what to do. Is there something wrong with my settings that the interlacing of the video just messed up? Or the problem is on my PC. By the way, this is my PC specs:
Intel 2140 1.6Ghz Dual Core procesor, 2GB memory, NVidia 7300GT Sonic Video Card (256MB/128bit/GDDR3) and my hard disk is 500GB SATA this is where i store and edit my videos. Hope you can help me with my problem. -
Sir, I made two copies of a 6-minute video, my source video came from a sony dcr-sr200 camcorder. the first copy was made in NERO and the second one is from Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0. What i did on premiere was i exported it directly to DVD [Export to DVD] and used this setting NTSC DV 4:3 HQ 7mb cbr 1 pass which is premiere’s default setting and i checked deinterlace. i was not happy with the result coz the video is much smoother in nero than premiere. the problem with premiere is that when anything moves in the video it becomes blurry/shadowy. It seems that i cant get the right settings for my video. Maybe because my source video was an MPEG format not an AVI. Is this could be the problem?
Right now im exporting another copy of the same video, but this time i’ll be experimenting other default settings. One thing thing more, i dunno what to use between CBR and VBR or which better to use. thanks! 🙂

My targets are both tv and pc. i export video to mpeg for pc viewing and then burning the mpeg file to dvd using nero for tv viewing. Is setting the bitrate to higher level will also lessen the length of the video on dvd? will it be lesser than 2 hours?
