Hi.
If it works as hdcam cameras then fw control is fairly easy.
Just connect fw to your computer and to your dec.
In finalcut change audio / video settings so that the device control is DV or similar and you should have control if the vtr supports itˇ.Hope this helps.
Known issues: Imported material that was also captured through fw on avid media express for offline did not sync by edl. I never got it solved which one was bad my time code or avid capturing. When i stayed in the same machine all worked fine.

Hi.
You should look for mjpg settings and capture in that. I have used this method with my pc and J30 meny times. Annother question is if all is set up right with premiere and dl card.—

On win it use to be deck control software also for something like that.
I still advise getting premiere working and start capturing with that.When i used win and DL card with my pc and premiere it worked 100% with SDI.

It seems promising … but i do not have experience with it yet.

Why you use this media express?
I have to be honest i do not know what that is 😉
I used to capture directly to premiere with SDI and it worked every time … i just had to have remote control over my SDI vtr. I do not think there is eny difference SD or HD etc. Only control cable must work with vtr and eclipse.
Can you remotely play stop etc with your vtr from premiere?

Yes i see. I have quadro fx 4500 installed but i see nothing good out of it. It seems to mee that app could be more cpu and memory intensive as today macs have 16 – 32 gigs of ram but motion uses barely 2 etc.
I usually work with tens of layers of photoshop files and then motion hangs a lot.

I’d say that Motion should get sort of a revamp of its code. As far as i see it now on 8 cored pro uses barely 40 – 60 % of cpu and not much memory either. There is a lot of potential in machines but no speed in software itself. I use Motion daily basis and like it a lot but hate freezes i get time to time.

Have you considered that this effect might need to be rendered?
I assume there was a setting for that in premiere if to render and what format to use.—

Ofcourse one should consider business mathers but it is a bit different than saying that quality etc tech stuff is not important.
I belive there is annother list on cow for business ideas etc.
No fence.
Professionals only horizon is to make ultimate on the field he/she is working as business owner to make money artist to make art and technical person to make reliale good systems (sometimes in budget).
