There are plenty of web and youtube tutorials you can use to improve the overall look of the videos. But while the equipment is important, the framing and look of the production is what really makes it effective. I agree that getting a professional, light crew in who know a bit more about lighting and the best type of shots to get will help the product and also teach you a fair bit about what to do in the process. Setting up a good relationship with a production company means it becomes very time efficient and you can get more hands on with the process 🙂

We use proprompter on the iPad. It’s around $30 on iTunes but does the job well!

We often deal with companies that have little experience with digital files. Often we courier a hard drive to them (either ours that they can return or we invoice them for it) BUT you need to ensure it is compatible with mac and windows. Vimeo is a good site to use for high quality video too. I’d say it’s important to educate your clients on how to access video. Perhaps have a “How To” document ready to go as an attachment with emails you send?

It is very important that there is a space where you and your colleagues can review the edit together. Would this be viable in the set up you have? Our edit suites have synced hard drives which means each edit can be accesses on a computer in a separate room with a large screen. This could be something worth investigating? I’d say discuss this with your boss A LOT before the move.
