  • Hi Ralph,

Sorry am having trouble here w PS CS. Tried to do contact info and little trial logo on a cd template then dropped the template layer out. When I bring into the Epson cd print program it comes in as a white square w contact info and logo that obscures the background that I was trying to use. Tried to copy and paste just contact info onto a transparent background by itself and get same results w white square. What am I doing wrong? Just want to be able to put items onto the backgrounds chosen that would blend into that.

    Thanks for your help!

  • Hi Ralph,

Burned a photo cd yesterday to try the printable cd. I was so happy with the results. The text quality looked good to me. Was concerned about that because saw reviews saying that the Epson printers had poor text quality. Flower background from the program was beautiful. A couple of photos that I stuck on the cd from my stock … need editing to blend into the background, otherwise they are like a square stamp stuck onto the cd. Still have yet to figure out placement of stuff. Tried something that Ted mentioned earlier in this thread which was to put name and contact info on the outside of the disk. Tried making a template in Photoshop and bring it into the cd print program .. it blanked everything else out. Downloaded a template of a cd cover from this site from a year ago to use for placement of text and images from photoshop. I removed the layer with the template. Just takes time to figure out. I like the price and printing on the R200 and am satisfied for my beginning level. A huge thanks to you and everyone who helped me.

  • Hi Ralph,

I wanted the R1800 but my pocket book right now is in line with the R200. My desk is a joke. I have an HP DeskJet 722C for printing emails and everyday stuff. An Epson Stylus Photo 785EPX that I got a couple of years ago to print photos and now go to a photo kiosk to print photos cheaper .. I think than I can unless I want something bigger or fancy ie makeover in Photoshop. Then my ink dries out! Now I have the R200 to print on the CDs and DVDs. What a mess. Just installed the printer. Best Buy had one left on close out for $79 but not many printable CDs and no printable DVDs. I had to go to Sams Club to get a 100 spindle of each CDs Verbatum were a little over $22 and DVDs were a little over $41. Sams also had many of the R200 for $79.??. There was a parking spot right in front of the front door of Best Buy on a friday night (figured that was a good sign). The R200 had NO USB CABLE in the box!! So had to steal from the other Epson. Still have yet to try it.

  • Thank all of you for your help!:) I don’t know where to post my thanks to all of you so I did it to my post. I printed out all of your responses that you gave and will price compare to see what I can get for my dollar. Had to get to work yesterday and couldn’t respond anymore during the day. A week ago got a spindle of DVDs from Best Buy and some lables from Memorex that now need to be returned. I am grateful that this site is here! Thank you!

    Best to all of you,

    Margie

  • Hi,

Thank you. I was trying to find yours. Didn’t know if there was something better out now. I wanted to do something better than scribble on the dvd with black marker!!:( It’s just so UN-classy. With the help of Vegas and your software my montages have been knocking the socks off of friends and family and it’s a bummer to have only my scribble on the dvd! Rendering time is about an overnighter w Vegas 5. Still haven’t installed V6.

  • Hi Ed,

I’m sorry .. I feel really dumb but how do I send you an email? Don’t know what to click here. My disk is ver 4.2

    Thanks,

  • Thank you. Just DL the trial and now am looking for the manual. Will have to go back to print it out. Unless I already DL’d it.

  • Hi Ed,
I just bought Excaliber. Will I be getting the registration key when I get the program in the mail? Then when I register with it then the trial copy would keep functioning??

I also bought tutorials for V6 and DVDA3. I have them already for V5 (the 9 hr one) and the ones for DVDA2 and didn’t know what to get and not to duplicate?

    Thanks,

    Margie

    Hi,

I had trouble off and on with my Sony burner. It could burn + and – and had the capability of USB or firewire connection to the CPU. I changed it from the USB connection to the firewire connection and haven’t had trouble since. Also noticed that I need to have the (external) burner on when I turn on the computer or I’ve had trouble there also with DVDA.

    Best wishes,
    Margie
