we had an event last week with live camera connected via a 300 ft BNC cable to a Sanyo PLC XP100 projector. You can see the excellent results here https://www.flickr.com/photos/45619179@N05/sets/72157624902272642/

we connected a Sony steadycam via a normal cinch cable to a Sanyo PLC-XP100 as a quick solution once. Projected the image to a 43 sqft daylight biggAIRcube and the result was fine, client was happy. It was an outdoor event with 300 people.

good to hear that your event worked out well. We have used rear projection many times in Europe, either in a tent or completely outside. For the above mentioned security issues as well as to have complete darkness we use an inflatable cube that is available in screen sizes from 40 to 280 sqft. Can be used for audiences of up to 10.000 viewers.

a bit late for the above event, but just for future reference. We have very good results with a combination of high powered 15k beamers doing rear projection in an inflatable cube. Image quality is good, screen needs to be well positioned and equipped with the right beamers. Then you have a real alternative to LED walls.
