    Found this on aenhancers.com

In After Effects CC and CS6, the behavior of random() is changed to be more random when layer IDs are close together. The wiggle() expression is not affected.

But I am guessing they have changed it again…

    My poor expressions 🙁

That can’t be the case as the file would not have worked.

    I basically have 2 E3D scenes:
One set to composite and the other as Zbuffer
    .
    The are now completely different.

If it had always been the case it wouldn’t have worked ☹

It used to be based on layer number, as changing the layer order would mess it all up and change all the values.
Now that doesn’t happen, but they differ across comps.

Is there a sneaky way of using the loopOut(type = “continue”) to drive the progression of values, then somehow link the 1 -1 slider to reverse change direction? If not I’ll just put up with it xD

Just wondering… is there another way to continuously animate forward without using time? Time can be a pain when linking comps together

Thanks so much! I will give it a try.

Yeah. Currently when I change slider to -1, it quickly animates from 5 to -6, as it’s tied to the time of the comp.

Are you using a near orthographic camera? Fairly used to seeing flickering, but that seems pretty extreme.
Also, are there polys sharing the same space? ie Z-fighting. This gets worse the more orthographic the camera is.
