  • I rendered it premultiplied, and checked the files again in Photoshop and After Effects, there’s no indication that After Effects has done anything strange with the files, and a mouse-over doesn’t indicate any wavering, it’s a solid value of 255.

The problem is- as usually is the case with such projects – I have to be 100% sure that the problem doesn’t lie with any error from my part, so that the debugging can start at the programming end of the project. From your reply I think I can conclude that whatever is making black areas semi transparent happens in the software, and isn’t in the original file…

I will also deliver some graphics rendered straight and see what happens. Also, I realized some of the black values were very black, and I thought maybe that was giving problems, so I rendered them out where the RGB doesn’t go below a value of 16 (good post on broadcast safe!) Could that be the problem?

thanks anyways for the tips, I’ll do some more testing here.

    regards,

    Hi Erik,

Thanks for the tip- I asked them to run a test with a Quicktime movie I gave them, and they didn’t experience any problems. Additionally, they apparently don’t have problems with field order, so thats a bonus!

    regards,
