You might even try filming some actual blood spray and splatter against a green screen or black drop and motion tracking it to the subject.

depends on what you want to edit and what your budget is.

Don’t get FCP. It’s one of the least intuitive apps I’ve ever used and Apple is phasing it out anyway.

Premiere Pro is great if you’re used to working in After Effects or work a lot with any of the Adobe products, really. Can’t beat the price, especially if you’re a student and can use the student discount.

Avid is, by far, the most intuitive and well organized editing application for…editing. Editing a feature? I’d go Avid. Editing commercials? I’d probably go Premiere Pro.

Thanks Kevin. I’ve always heard that you shouldn’t use AE for encoding, but I might give it a shot this time around.

Walter, It’s a feature length project so some of the shots may actually be quite long. I’m not talking about clips straight out of the bin.

For the time being, I’m solving the problem by duplicating my Form sphere, placing it above the .png layer and fading out the opacity as the camera approaches. Is it similar to CC Cylinder in that it’s just not real 3D?
