  • What is the codec of the video file you are working with?

I found a similar issue I tried to work with H264 files from a Panasonic. Depending on the codec, there could be a plugin you could add to Avid to help it read the video. I ended up converting my footage to DnX36, and that solved my issue.

That is the solution! I had it on Auto. Thank you so much Brent.

Not in the sequence I’m working in. I had removed all the filters.

I think I’ve narrowed it down to a project issue. If I open another project, “Set Pan” is back. I am able to open the bin I need in that project and “Set Pat On Track – In/Out” on my sequence, so I have a workaround.

However, the projects are identical–as far as I can tell. They were made the same way, with the same project and user settings, which keeps me questioning why the audio mixer will only let me “Filter Pan” in one and “Set Pan” in another.

Ah! Gotcha. Yes, that makes perfect sense. Thank you both!

I’ve deleted the mpr and mdb files, but when Avid recreates them and I drag the database file into a bin, nothing populates. It does a quick scan, like it things about it, but doesn’t bring anything in.
