Thanks for your help, I tried what you suggested but I am still not getting a smooth movie.

Please disregard the statement “I set up DV Pal and it automatically gives me 24 fps”
I reset keyframe rate to automatic and the data rate to automatic, and the movie is still jerky.
I am wondering could it be my computer which is not powerful enough, laptop Powerbook G4 with 2Gb ram.

Sorry my mistake, the frame rate is PAL but the keyframe rate was every 24 frames.

I set up DV Pal and it automatically gives me 24 fps
