ah thanks, but I was trying to render the solid layer instead of the composition. Got it at 3 in the morning. Silly mistake.
Thanks for the response though, I wont be using players to check transparency in the future. much appreciated.

AE cs5. mts files. There is no connection between the clips that have this marking as far as I can make out. And they were there as soon as I imported the Premiere project.
