The program called Mencoder can be used to convert videos too. Anybody knows how I can convert .ts videos?

Michael,

The output file is getting longer than the video input (duration in seconds). The audio is ok, but the video is slow.
When I use -vcodec copy I have the normal video in other format, but when I use the libx264, the video slows down.
Do you know any solution?

The .ts file is from a record of Digital TV.

results from $ ffmpeg -i file.ts :

printscreen.png

Can be in anyone codec that decrease the size of the video.
The output must have one audio track.
The format can be in .mkv instead .avi
