so, “assets” are the individual clips, I take it?

I don’t have the wares mentioned above but a friend and peer does.

If I make all the “assets” myself (let’s say less than 50, even though that’s a lot of work), and they’re in mpg or avi or whatever file type Adobe likes best for final product to be burned onto DVD, will I be looking at working in an “organic” way like drag and drop/add effects etc. in PowerDirector and editing programs, or will I be having to deal with “code” like dealing with actionscript and commands in Flash?
